Wild, Wild Whistler and so much more!!!

Okay I am officially back on the blogging train. I derailed there for a while simply because well I just didn't feel like doing it. However, I am refreshed and ready to go...

NUMBER 1 NEWS: Liam is 17 months old today!!! Wow when did he suddenly grow up into a little man. I do admit that everyday does get better in this house as he understands so much now and is starting to 'speak' a lot more...he does a lot of sign language but he throws out the occasionally words (mama, banana, ball, etc.) We just feel so lucky to have such a loving funny kid who for the most part spends a lot of time laughing at himself. :)

NUMBER 2 NEWS: We just got back from a weekend in Whistler for the annual Residence Retreat to Dr. John Robertson's cabin. We are so spoiled to have these amazing fun retreats in some pretty beautiful places. Matt skiied the fresh tracks with collegues on the Saturday while Liam, Karen, Samuel and I stayed behind to tobaggan and enjoy the mountain fresh air. Unfortunately, it had snowed so much over the last few nights that the snow went up to our thighs as we attempted to make a track for tobagganning. So we had to kiboosh that pretty quickly as the buys kept sinking into the snow. Instead we took the boys on the tobaggans and went for a walk around the neighbourhood instead. Thanks John and Sylvia for hosting us at your cabin!

Sam tobagganing!

Hey buddy are you okay?

Liam and Sam: Tobaggan studs!

NUMBER 3 NEWS: Matt's cousin Lorie and her partner Robert came to visit us last night from Vancouver. It was great to have them out since they haven't seen Matt since the summer. We enjoyed some Chinese food last night and had an early evening but I think everyone was ready to have a nice long snooze! Liam and I took them on the walk of Rotary Trail and then for some Vietnamese food in downtown Chilliwack...yes there is a very good vietnamese restaurant here!

That's all for now! We have a lot of visitors coming next month starting with my mom and dad and then my buddy Lyndi!!! Wooooohooooo!!

Have a great week!

Oh the winter blahs

I told my mom the other night that really things have been pretty boring around this town (reason why blog hadn't been updated). Maybe it the weather (not enough sun and too much snow/rain)...I am quite sure that Matt and I decided to move to the coast so we would not have to purchase a snow shovel or plug in our cars during the winter. However, Matt only had to plug in once this year and still haven't bought the snow shovel but maybe we should have.

Tuesday morning's view!

It could be Edmonton!

So should I have bought a shovel the other day from Canadian Tire? Maybe but knowing my luck the day I do that it is going to be blazing hot and I"ll be outside in my shorts. So until that day I am going to nicely ask my neighbours for the use of theirs but I already know what the conversation will be, 'Don't you and Matt own a dozen shovels because in Edmonton it snows way more than this!'

I am getting ready for Liam and I to walk to the gym. Over the last week I have complained about how cold it has been so I have been driving my 5 minutes to the gym. Let's think about that driving for 5 minutes to get to the gym for exercise...pretty pathetic. So now on the snowest day Liam and I will be cruisin' to the gym in the chariot. Really my thoughts changed the other night after our friend's, Ryan and Karen, recommended watching Inconvient Truth the Al Gore documentary on Global Warming. I highly recommend watching it, it will hopefully change the way you do your daily things (buying groceries, driving your car, etc.).

Here's some photos from the past few blahful weeks!

Liam wearing his newborn baby shirt...it looks hot doesn't it!!!

Liam not so happy about being in the chariot a few weekends ago as we cross country skiied at Manning Park.

Have a great week everyone!

We're revvin' into 2007!

Wow this Christmas just flew by for us. One minute I was just going on with our daily routine and the next day Matt's parents, Hugh and Lynda, were pulling up into our driveway ready to celebrate!
Santa's sleigh...I mean Hugh and Lynda's car!
We had a busy household this Christmas with Hugh and Lynda, and Matt's younger brother, Andy and his partner, Brendalyn joining us for the first part of Christmas. As we were saying good bye to Andy and Brendalyn we were joined by Matt's older brother, Cam and his partner Carmen. A full house but I couldn't have asked for a better holiday! Like I have said before family makes life simply better.

Andy and Brendalyn

We were all very spoiled this Christmas especially Liam! However, as we were unwrapping the millions of presents Liam spent time looking through his books and playing with his toys in the corner. We actually had to go get him to rip open some of his presents! Weird kid!

Funny thing is that this photo only shows you about 1/4 of the presents!

Grandma and Grandpa reading with Liam.
In the past few years we've had some different mantras as to what we wanted the new year to bring. Example: Keepin' the dream alive in 2005! (borrowed from Keltie and Kyle as they got married in 2005) Of course our dream was to have a little baby and well it came true.
So for 2007 we came up with: Keep the engine revin' in 2007!

As Matt's program comes to a finish in July 2007 we will have many new adventures ahead but hey that's what life is all about!!

So with that little greeting we hope everyone has a prosperous and healthy new year!! (Michael and Teresa we definitely know you have an exciting 2007 coming up!! Congrats and we will catch up one of these days!)

Love,

Matt, Mo and Liam

Liam's about to give you a good bye smooch!
